  • With such a long history that dates back thousands of years, it is only right that Peru is currently an economy with a widely varied and multiethnic population. In 2009, Peru has a population of 29.11 million with an annual population growth rate of 1.11 percent.

    Twenty-one cities in the economy have a population of 100,000 or more. Peru also ranks as the fifth most populous in South America (after Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina) and the population is expected to increase to over 40 million by 2050!

    In terms of population statistics, the infant mortality rate is 29.96/1,000. Life expectancy is 68 years for men and around 72 years for women. ..continue
